Inertial measurement unit (IMU)

The inertial measurement unit (IMU) is a device that measures the three-axis attitude angle and acceleration of an object. Generally, a three-axis gyroscope and three-directional accelerometer are installed in an IMU to measure the angular velocity and acceleration of the object in the three-dimensional space, and to calculate the posture of the object. In order to improve reliability, it is also possible to equip more sensors for each axis. Generally speaking, the IMU should be installed on the center of gravity of the measured object.

Applied in Smart Insole

It can separate normal gait, slow gait and small broken steps with poor nerve control.
